The winners of the 2008 "Billtown Blues Challenge" Festival Audition Concert are The Ann Kerstetter Band in the Band category, and Blind Peg Leg Paul in the Solo/Duo category. Both acts will perform at the 19th Annual Billtown Blues Festival, June 8, 2008, and will be eligible to represent the Billtown Blues Association at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN in 2009. | About The Audition Concert |
The auditions are held every Spring to determine the opening act of the Billtown Blues Festival. Acts are chosen by the BBA audition committee to compete for the coveted position from applications submitted from top local and regional BLUES performers.
Working blues performers interested in participating should fill out and mail an
application PLUS the other required items to the BBA. (See application for requirements, mailing address and the deadline). The winning acts not only will play our Festival, but are also eligible to represent the Billtown Blues Association at the International Blues Challenge talent competition in Memphis, TN sponsored by the Blues Foundation. The participants will be judged and the winners determined by all eligible voting BBA members in attendance at the Audition Concert . Eligible BBA members can pick up their ballots at the Audition Concert, at the table at the entrance to the Genetti ballroom.
